Augering and Probing techniques offer an opportunity to gather data on stratigraphy without high degrees of disturbance. Through the use of power auger systems sampling can be carried out even in months when sediments are frozen.
NLURA operates three different auger and probe systems:

Each system is applicable to particular depths, seasons, and degrees of sample intactness
